The DuBois Leadership Academy provides students in grades 9-12 with a unique learning opportunity. Rigorous academics teamed with project-based learning and creative, highly qualified teachers gives each students a place to learn, explore and grow.
The high school curriculum is focused on three key areas within the framework of leadership and a culturally conscious curriculum: Social Activism...Ecological Stewardship...Entrepreneurship.
Block scheduling and small classes allow students to spend large amounts of time in each class and to interact with peers and teachers in an environment that fuels their intellectual development, cultural consciousness and confidence as a scholar.
Students in grades 9 and 10 are immersed the development of strong academic skills in all core subjects. In the 11th and 12th grades, students take college level classes, including AP courses in preparation for completion of their senior thesis project, a requirement for graduation.
DuBois graduates are accepted and matriculate to many of the country's finest colleges and universities including Stanford, the University of Michigan, Howard University, Spelman College, Wayne State University, Florida A&M, UC Berkley, Tuskeegee University, and Oakland University for example.
